An Assortment of Motion Graphics

Motion Graphics

- Adobe After Effects

- Adobe Illustrator

- Adobe Premiere Pro

This page hosts some of my favorite Motion Graphics work. Animation, Illustration, and Editing have always been hobbies of mine, so Motion Graphics really clicked with me as pretty satisfying, as it is kind of all of those things wrapped into one.

a small boat Logo Animation

The goal here was to create a little splash animation for the logo used by my indie studio, a small boat. This was something that I knew needed to be quick and flashy, rathe than a long dramatic reveal, as it would appear before trailers and on game launch. After a bit of exploration, I landed on this idea of having a slash mark following the trajectory of the sail, to create an opening for the boat to appear. I could tell you this comes from the studio’s philosophy of filling in gaps or working with negative space, but really it just looks cool.

Final Version

HAYWIRE Propaganda

A virus that is definitely real

These are a few pieces I did for This Game is About Robots, a game about propaganda. The idea here is that the player learns various game mechanics, though in-game propaganda videos, playing on billboards throughout the environment. These were meant to be pretty short, looping animations, that would ultimately hint towards an action rather than explicitly telling the player ‘hit this button’. (You can find more info on the game on the This Game is About Robots Page).

This one is a bit more expository in the information it delivers, but I think its pretty interesting, as it contains a blend of 2D animation made in AE and 3D animation made in Unreal Engine.

A Little Bit About Bouldering

I like rocks

I really like bouldering, so I made this little video in After Effects showing off different bouldering holds, and explaining how to identify them. This was just kind of a fun project that was nice practice creating instructional content, and working with VO.
